Position Summary
Supports line of business applications by analyzing and resolving issues, evaluating user requests, and coordinating with end users, IT teams, and vendors. Serves as the next level of support after power users and the Help Desk and is expected to provide deep expertise in the assigned applications. Participates in patch reviews, vendor-supplied fixes, minor and major upgrades, and system implementations.
What You Will Do
- Provide technical and business support to local and remote end users for the assigned business applications, including training, resolving issues, recommending and implementing solutions.
- Manage the lifecycle of the supported applications from implementation to retirement, including application configuration, maintenance, security management, licensing, and renewals.
- Provide technical expertise and support for integration with other applications, including understanding the infrastructure architecture and how other applications interact.
- Manage vendor relations from a technical perspective and utilize the vendor and other support options to resolve issues that are beyond internal application expertise or access.
- Partner with vendors to understand application roadmaps, identify positive or negative impacts of upcoming changes, and make recommendations to increase efficiencies across the organization.
- Ensure standards, patterns and practices support and comply with internal IT processes, security policies and controls established for in-scope SOX information systems.
- Participate in the collection and provisioning of internal controls information to the IT Compliance Team to fulfill audit requests for SOX.
- Establish and maintain system-related documentation, including architecture and data flow diagrams, business application guides, process and support manuals, application roadmaps and run books.
- Administer application changes through the change control process, including test planning, test execution, test result documentation, obtaining appropriate signoff from business and IT approvers, change promotion and monitoring impact of changes.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience providing direct Tier II and III level support to end users of technical applications.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2018 and above, SQL scripting, ODBC, DNS, TCP/IP, and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience with the use and application of reporting tools (i.e. Scheduler, SSRS, Spotfire, Crystal Reports).
- Oil and Gas applications support experience is a strong plus, for example W Energy, Enverus, Quorum, Peloton (WellView, SiteView), Avocet, Energy Components, Aries, or similar.
- Excellent communication, logical problem solving, understanding of change management, and basic project management.
